Project: Study of Haldi River Watershed by Sedimentation yield using integrated Remote Sensing & GIS.

Description: The study area selected Haldi River Watershed, which is in Nizamabad district. It has a catchment area of 556.54 km2, which is part of Sriram Sagar catchment area. The watershed lies at the down stream of Manjra River. Identified soil erosion zones and estimated the sediment yield from the catchment area. Suggested appropriate soil conservation measures erosion zone and also identified the sites for the construction of soil conservation structures in the catchment area.

Project: Performance evaluation of Major Distributaries (Block) of Nagarjuna Sagar left canal (NSLC) Command area using Remote Sensing & GIS.

Description: Planning for distributing the required amount of water for each major distributor, based on irrigation parameters like irrigation intensity water use efficiency and also estimated the amount of water needed for Kharif season at each major distribution and estimated water deficit & water surplus for each major with respect to demand & supply, which gives Idea for supplying the water for each major.

Project: Forest Resource Management - a case study of Vizianagaram District, A.P. using Remote sensing and GIS - World Bank Project.

Description: Forest Resource management Plan is used to prepare Working Plans for different Forest ranges/Compartments on studying the existing and previous performance of working circles. By using GIS and Satellite data of IRS-1C/1D, LISS-II, LISS-III sensors the preparation of Forest type maps, Forest Density maps, Stock Maps etc. made easy and there by it is easy to propose accurate working Circles with in a short span of time. The main objective of this project is how GIS & RS can handle the spatial and non-spatial information in Management Plan inputs in Forestry. The secondary objectives are to monitor the performance of prescription in different working circles pertaining to present working circles, to develop operational GIS used by Resources Managers at Divisional and Range Level and to construct new digital database and Spatial GIS for the study area.

Project: Image Rectification & GIS database Creation for detected Changes within Forest area - A Case Study of Vishakapatnam District, A.P. for the years 1988 and 1998 - World Bank Project.

Description: A reliable and Flexible Working Circles and management plans can be prepared by using GIS & RS. In this World Bank project, the main objectives are to detect the changes in forest density and forest types in the study area and to propose necessary recommendations for protection and sustainability of Forests. By using IRS-1C/1D, LISS-II,LISS-III data and forest reference maps, the basic digital maps viz., Administrative Boundaries, Forest Blocks and Compartments, Vegetation Classes, Road Network & Settlement areas are prepared. The vector layers are generated at division, Range and Compartments level. The satellite data are rectified w.r.t SOI toposheets and are generated at scene, toposheet, division and range wise for both 1988 and 1998 years. A GIS database is created individually for both years and changes areas are mapped.

Project: Environmental Impact of Landuse/Landcover on water quality Assessment using GIS Techniques.

Description: The objective of proposed study is to identify and detect the problematic areas of water quality parameters and studying the impact of the land use pattern on the existing environment quality by means of creating buffer zones using GIS. This study constitutes Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA), a Govt. Organization in A.P., with planning Zone numbers III, IV, VII and XI. The identification of problematic areas is based on the ground water quality of 1998, and also studying the correlation between land use and the extent of environmental degration. Different thematic maps are prepared showing Landuse/Landcover information, different environmental parameter variations that depict water quality and the areas of stress etc. A GIS database is created and digital maps are generated for the Zone Numbers III. IV, VII and XI of Hyderabad City that can be used directly by HUDA, Pollution Control Board and Facility Management Organizations like Hyderabad sewerage Department, Water supply Department etc.

Project: An integrated approach for preparation of land resources management plan using GIS- a case study of Malan Nadi Watershed, Jalgaon District, Maharastra.

Description: Integrated development is a comprehensive action program. It aims for the development of an area by integrating natural resources information and socio-economic data. India being predominantly agrarian, rural areas become theFocus of all development actives. And the great goal of all such activities becomes ‘proper utilization of natural resources. Based on the thematic information of maps and the decision rules, an action plan is generated for Malan Nadi Watershed, Maharastra, by using GIS software Arc/Info.

Project: Automatic Name placement and feature extraction using GIS.

Description: Feature Extraction is an important subject in digital photogrammetry and computer vision. The methods that are being developed for extraction of features depend on the type of data that is being used. The extraction of these features from a map is important in different systems like ‘Automatic Name Placement Systems in Automated Cartography’, ‘Automatic Linear/Aerial feature extraction for mapping and GIS’. Etc. Name-placement is a time consuming process either by manually or by using different computer software packages used in GIS / Remote Sensing

Project: Evaluation of Sediment Yield by using Remote Sensing and GIS-A Case Study of Phulang Vagu Watershed in Sriram Sagar Catchment Area of Andhra Pradesh.

Description: The primary objective of this project is to identify soil erosion zones and to suggest appropriate measures for control of soil erosion by using Remote Sensing, GIS and conventional data of Phulang Vagu Watershed in Sriram Sagar Catchment area of Andhra Pradesh. The digital data of IRS-1C satellite together with the toposheets and rainfall data of the study area are used for analysis. By using Image processing techniques, the digital data is interpreted to prepare Landuse/Landcover in association with ground truth observations made in the study area and with the collateral data in the toposheets.

Project: Hydro chemical study of backwater and ground water in Coastal Tracts of West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh.

Description: The objective of this project is to understand the surface and ground water conditions in terms of quality and the influence of seawater during High Tide, a few integrated surveys that include hydro chemical studies and statistical modeling techniques have been conducted in the study area. These integrated surveys involving all the possible techniques have helped in the understanding of hydro geochemical environment in the study area for drinking/agricultural/industrial/pisci and prawn culture purposes.

Project: Impact of Land use pattern on environmental quality – a case study of Hyderabad zone-III.

Description: A GIS s/w Arc Info is used to study the Landuse in and around the Zone III of HUDA, and to correlate with environmental quality of the area. Two types of databases are created using Arc/Info. These two databases are Spatial database and attribute database. The attribute database consists of Groundwater quality of all the places falling under the study area. The databases are analyzed using vector GIS capabilities by which buffer zones are generated. These buffer zones are considered as places falling under the study area and each place depicts the condition of the groundwater quality of the place.

Project: Application of Remote sensing on Snow melt Runoff in Sutlej Basin of Western Himalayas.

Description: Snowmelt runoff takes an important part of western Himalayan Catchments. This flow occurs during a period of high demand for hydroelectric power
generation, irrigation, and water supply for northern part of India. In present study, an attempt is made to identify the effects of different climatic
changes in the Indian sub-continent, with particular reference to water resources and simulate inflows in Spiti river basin in Himalayan region consequent to
these to understand the variations quantitatively and also in terms of time distribution of discharge hydrographs. The results shows that the raise in
temperature as marginal impact on the water resources of Himalayan basin. The changes in climate will effect snow cover areas resulting in changed albedo,
which may in term influence the climate.

Project: Identification and Detection of Problematic Areas of Drinking Water Using GIS Techniques.

Description: Using GIS Techniques, the problematic areas of drinking water are identified, detected and categorized. Considering the non-spatial data of
premonsoon ground water levels for the years of 1984,88,92 and 97 and ground water drafts and demographical data of the study area. Digitized the spatial
data of all panchayat samithies includes all village locations, river & road network etc., and water to depth level data with key village locations of study
area. Using buffering techniques found the problematic villages and categorized according the Problem.

Engineering

• Concrete MIX Design System (CONMIX)

ConMix is Concrete MIX design software developed for civil engineers. It serves as a design tool to the contractors and engineers in the process of designing
a desired concrete mix. Based on design specifications furnished, using ConMix, any grade of concrete mix can be designed with in minutes. Its high user-
interface capabilities allow any civil engineer, even with little computer knowledge; to operate the windows based software without any difficulty. Help
system of ConMix facilitates the first time user with required information for successful mix design process. In the present version, designs are based on
Indian Standards (IS: 10262-1982 & SP: 23-1982). Future versions will include other prominent methods of mix design.

• Resource Allocation & Cost Estimation System (RACES)

Windows based RACES is for civil engineers. It helps the engineers during the tendering process of a construction project. System assists engineer by
suggesting possible resources required for each construction activity and calculates the estimated cost of each. It generates reports such as abstract
estimate and detailed estimate for any project proposals.

• Road Cross-section & Area Plotting System (RCAPS)

Windows based RCAPS is for civil engineers. It helps the engineers during the earthwork calculations of a project. System takes survey data such as reduced
levels and corresponding distances, road layer details, camber etc. and generates a cross-sectional area plot with all required details. It also assesses the
earthwork quantities in embankment or cutting.

Windows based SIMS is for whom need inventory control and material management. The system manages all stores operations, sales & purchases and generates

the hall ticket numbers to those applicants. Allotting the center gender wise and generate the reports. Generating the hall tickets to all eligible
candidates. This s/w will take the marks of all applicants. Bonus marks will be added to applicants according to norms of Rajasthan State Government.
Filtering the qualified candidates and allotting the rank. This s/w will generate various reports of applicants like Category wise and gender wise rank
information etc.

• Purchase Management System

This system consists of five modules viz. Quotations, payment terms, purchase orders Transportation details, test certificates. The quotation module stores
all the particulars of the price list coded by suppliers. The next module is the payment Terms module in which all the payment details like price agreed
discount if any, credit period etc. are stored. It also stores the ‘Letters Of Credit’ if any. The Purchase Order module is used to generate the Purchase
Order, Which contains all the details like Purchase Orders no., quantity ordered, price discount and suppliers name and address. The Transportation Details
module stores the information regarding the quantity delivered and the mode of transportation, truck no. Etc. The last module i.e. the Test Certificates
module stores data about the quality of the material received. It also stores the details of the materials, which are rejected in case they are not up to the
required standards.

• Payroll Management System

The system serves the needs of the personal department of the company. A detail file consisting of all the employee details (master file) is created and is
used in connection with transaction files like the salary file. The system generates monthly pay slips of the employees, the list of employees joining in the
company in a particular period, the leave position of the employee in each month. It generates reports of the benefits (HRA, Car Allowances, CCA, PF) an
employee is entitled to get, income tax details of each employee to be submitted to income tax department. The vacancy position is also generated so as to
recruit persons for various positions. It is a very user-friendly system with file systems that are structured and well defined with interactive screens.

• Effluent Treatment Plant Maintenance(ETP)

This plant basically used for treatment of the waste water comingfrom the factory and it useful for other purpose. This project consists of two modules
payroll amd maintenance. Payroll module keeps track of employee’s details, attendance allotment of duties and salaries. Maintenance module keeps track of
maintenance of plant by replacing the damaged parts. Thils project generates reports regardilng daily, monthly, indent, chemical requirements and pay slips.

• Pattern Recognisation Using Hopfield Neural Networks

The code is generated in C to recognize the alphabet patterns from A to M. functions are written to train the input pattern, to accept the test pattern and
to display output pattern. Hopfield Neural network is trained for pattern recognition. After the iterations the test Pattern coverages with the input
pattern. The coveraged pattern is then displayed. This software is user friendly and flexible.

• Microlevel Road Network Analysis Using Gis Techniques

The code is generated in C++ to find the optimal path in a route Network from source to destination node the software also address the functions for node
inclusion and node deletion from the network. As the length of each arc can be evaluated by Dijkstra’s algorithm, cost of the each arc, arc-cost can be
evaluated. The software developed is user friendly, flexible and generic.

• Object Oriented Geographic Information System

The information for a geographic features has four major components-is geographic position, its attributes, its spatial relationships and time. GIS is
designed with distinct features to circumvent the drawbacks of Database Management System (DBMS) to solve uniquely the difficulties in handling the complex
spatial data-Either in Raster or Vector format along with its attributes. Any DBMS stores and retrieves data whereas a GIS stores data and retrieves
information. GIS functions for certain basic tasks like capture, store, manipulate, retrieve, transfer and display data that are referred to a particular
geographic locations.

• Sales Monitoring System

The project involves developing a Sales monitoring system for a software company with four regional marketing offices in India. Each regional office has 5 sales officers with different types of products to market. Every financial year the company sets targets for each sales officers, regional office. To analyze the achievements of each sales officer. Region wise – product wise, officer wise – product wise, product wise – total regions. Forms developed are order form, challan form and customer form. This project has been first developed in Oracle as Back-end and Visual Basic as Front-end.
